Dulce Pontes compose hymn for the 7 wonders of the world
The Foundation New7Wonders, leaded by the philanthropic Bernard Weber, invited Dulce Pontes to compose the hymn for the New 7 wonders of the world. According to the singer website, Dulce accepted the invitation with “enthusiasm”. The song/hymn is called “We are all one”. The Portuguese Eurovision entry in 1991 (she sang “Lusitana Paixão” and reached the 8th place) will join the stage with the Spanish tenor José Carreras and a group of children from many countries. Each kid will sing a part of this song in their mother language during the official declaration ceremony held in Lisbon, Portugal, on Saturday, July 7, 2007 - 07.07.07. For sure, a really special moment.
The event will take place at Portugal's largest venue, the “Estadio da Luz”, with more than 60.000 places. The event will be broadcast live for all over the world. The Official Declaration of the New 7 Wonders of the World show will feature performances and award presentation appearances from Jennifer Lopez, Jose Carreras, Chaka Khan, Alessandro Safina, Joaquín Cortés, Neil Armstrong and Cristiano Ronaldo amongst others. These artists will reveal the names of the Seven Wonders of the World, among the 21 finalists monuments. People are choosing them by phone and Internet. More than 40 million people have voted already.
