Film Review – Horse Whisperer

Directed by Robert Redford on 1999, “Horse Whisperer” was based on Nicholas Evans book with the same title.

The film starring with R. Redford, Kristin Scott Thomas and Sam Neill begins with an accident that profoundly injuries a young girl (Grace) and her horse (Pilgrim). Willing to help Grace, Annie (Grace’s mother) who is an Editor of magazine, gives up her fulfilled life to find a horse whisperer. Annie (Kristin Scott Thomas) feels that the recovery of Grace and Pilgrim has to occur at the same time, because all the therapies applied to Grace had been worthless. She meets Thomas Booker, a simple and unsophisticated rancher. Thomas Booker (R.Redford) leads us to the recovery of both the horse and girl. Furthermore, he touches the hearts of those who are around him.

The amazingly impressive landscapes of Montana are the chosen scenario to show the horse behaviour and his evolution as described on the original book. The approach to an injured horse is impressively similar to reality. This film has highly successful pictures of the ranch. The performances of the entire cast are highly successful.

For all people who like horses or horse riding, this is the best film ever produced about Equine Behaviour and Horse Psychology. For those who don’t like horses that much, they will also be hugely impressed by the moving story beyond the physical recovery. Every time I see it, I learn new things. Don’t miss this film, it will certainly inspire you.
